Richie Hawtin, the man behind Plus 8, M-nus, and some of the most legendary techno parties the world has ever seen, has a quality documentary on the electronic magazine, Slices, that was released in it’s entirety to Youtube last week.

This 70 min film came out a couple of years ago and is as comprehensive a documentary you could hope to find. It covers everything from his early days as a child, through the development of Plus 8 and his Plastikman moniker, all the way up to his rock-star antics with Sven Väth in Columbia.

This thing is chalked full of rare footage and puts his entire career in perspective. I came away with a new found respect for Hawtin after viewing this film and considering the weekend ahead of us in Detroit, is as relevant as ever and should be a good time-killer while you’re in the airport. Check it…
